Tony Metcalf
Director

Tony Metcalf is directly responsible for the provision of Aria’s project management services. He’s involved in all aspects of delivering services and provides strategic advice, advice on contractual matters, cost control, programming, construction method alternatives, and procurement options.

An experienced senior project manager, Tony is a qualified quantity surveyor with 10 years of contracting and 20 years of project management experience. He provides a single point of accountability to ensure that the roles and responsibilities of project management are satisfactorily completed.

He’s particularly adept at managing complex projects with competing stakeholder requirements and is experienced at working in the public sector, understands government procurement policies and probity requirements.

Some of his recent projects include:

  • Busselton Shopping Centre Redevelopment

  • Tomah Road – a 7,500 m2 industrial building and offices for the manufacture of explosives related equipment.

  • Mureena Way, Wedgefield – a 3,000 m2 industrial building located in the South Hedland’s light industrial precinct. 

  • Stirling Metals – a large industrial building and processing facility in Bibra Lake.

  • Neerabup Waste Treatment Facility – a $100.0m design and construct project for local authorities located in the central and northern suburbs of Perth.

  • New WAAPA Facilities at ECU Mount Lawley - a $10.0m workshop and set building facility.

Rob Schmidt
Senior Project Manager

Rob possesses 30 years’ experience in the national and international property and construction industry, principally as an architect with large private practices, and project management.

 

His experience includes significant periods working overseas in the United Kingdom, New Zealand, Qatar and the United Arab Emirates.

He’s participated on projects addressing a range of issues, from traditional urban design processes on civic and institutional buildings to the commercial realities of retail design and the need to generate accessible and memorable user experiences.

Rob brings a strong understanding of design management and team leadership to the projects he works on, often involving complex stakeholder groups and the full range of design and construction procurement methods. 

He has direct experience in the project management of industrial and out of town developments including:

  • Ellenbrook Stage 2

  • Albany Plaza Stage 3

  • Ocean Keys Shopping Centre

Ian Dunlop
Senior Project Manager

Ian is as qualified and chartered Quantity Surveyor with over 26 years’ experience in Consultancy roles at a senior management level.

 

He brings with him in-depth knowledge in all facets of independent cost and project management to protect client interests and maximise value for money.

 

Ian has an industry reputation for technical excellence and achieving client objectives, from feasibility analysis and business case maximisation, through to procurement strategies, budgetary frameworks for design control, value improvement and cost economies, market assessments and tender evaluations.

Ian has actively participated in numerous value management teams to provide cost critical and innovative solutions to achieve value for money for clients. At construction stage he possesses detailed experience of financial reporting, control group meetings, auditing of construction management type contracts change management processes and performance bonus calculations.

He has previously been the responsible Director for a wide and varied selection of building types and procurement methodologies including Lump Sum, Design and Construct proposals and novated contracts. Having worked with a diverse range of clients and consultants he has valuable experience and clearly understands the key elements intrinsic to securing successful project outcomes.

 

Some of his recent projects include

  • Scarborough Beach pool facility, WA - heated 50m and 25m pools, retail and hospitality facilities and pool amenities such as seating, ablutions.

  • Harrisdale Shopping Centre – a new regional shopping centre with a FECA of approximately 11,200m2 incorporating a Woolworths, mini major and specialty tenancies. Scope also included pad sites and a new stand-alone Aldi supermarket.

  • Shell Australia (KS 2) – 19,300m2 fitout for Shell Australia in Perth CBD. The fitout over 12 floors to a 5 Star Green Star accreditation included fitout for the control and operations center of Shells Prelude floating FLNG vessel.

  • Hawaiian, Bishops See, Perth – an integrated commercial office fitout in Perth CBD for Hawaiian’s new HQ.

  • Workzone Base build, Pier & Nash Tower, Charterhall Office Development, Perth -a Commercial Office development comprising, two buildings, both seven floors including one level of basement parking, totalling just under 19,000m2 gross floor area.

  • Perth Airport Authority Pty Ltd, New terminal T2, WA - new domestic terminal building at Perth airport.

  • One40 William Street Perth -a high end Government office fit out. Scope of works included heritage sensitive environment covering 14 floors of integrated Green Star accredited fit-out.

Jaime de Beaux
Project Manager

Jaime is an experienced professional who holds a wealth of knowledge in building design, construction and project management.

With a passion for architecture and engineering combined with project design and delivery experience, Jaime oversees the project management of a variety of project types from feasibility studies through to practical completion.

In addition to Jaime’s consultancy experience, he has designed and completed several successful development projects, which has given him a holistic understanding of project requirements and construction sequencing.

Some of his recent projects include

  • Seaward Village Upgrades, WA – the renovation and redevelopment of the interiors and exteriors of each property and upgrades to the hard and soft landscaping to 153 houses owned by Defence Housing Australia (DHA).

  • 22 Geddes St, Balcatta, WA - 42 new industrial/commercial units with 199 car bays and associated landscaping.

  • City Beach Surf Club, City Beach, WA - new surf club building, restaurants, cafes and parkland precinct for the area.

  • Water Corporation Office, Balcatta, WA – Renovation and extension of the existing Water Corporation office.

  • Toyota Head Office, Kewdale, WA – 5 Green Star high end office building and associated car parking & depot.

  • Carnarvon Police & Justice Complex, Carnarvon, WA – a new state of the art police building, court house and community justice centre.
